Local Area Ministries
Raleigh and the Triangle Area
Based in the Raleigh and Triangle Area, Equipped for Life commits a portion of the Flagship Fund to local area ministries.
Missions begins at home. Just as the early disciples started out in Jerusalem, Equipped for Life has a heart for local area ministries doing the work of the gospel. A growing number of strong, biblically focused, Christ-centered churches impact the community yet a wide range of para-church ministries complement their work as co-laborers for Christ.
In the Raleigh and Triangle Area, many national ministries as well as local outreaches make a big impact for Christ. Listed below are several with whom we have had long partnerships. You can give directly to them, or allow EFL's Flagship for Missions to include a donation to them as a part of your contribution plan. Below are just some of the area ministries with which EFL's staff has had a long-standing relationship.
Here are some local ministries making a difference for Christ!

Since officially opening the Mission’s doors in 1961, nearly 1 million men, women and children have passed through our doors! We offer critical life-saving services like meals, emergency overnight shelter, coats and other warm clothing in the winter, plus medical care for our residents. In everything we do, our goal is to help our clients restore their lives. Through recovery services, adult education, housing locator assistance, discipleship and more, lives are transformed profoundly.

Everyone is welcome in Young Life! Our programs are custom made for kids throughout their adolescent years. Young Life’s multicultural ministry, focused on kids in diverse cultural communities and those in economically-depressed areas, is arguably the largest of its kind in the United States. Young Life began with a few simple ideas about sharing the truth of God’s love with adolescents. Those simple ideas have become time-tested methods for reaching out to students in friendship and hope through Christ.

The Fellowship of Christian Athletes is touching millions of lives… one heart at a time. Since 1954, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes has been challenging coaches and athletes on the professional, college, high school, junior high and youth levels to use the powerful medium of athletics to impact the world for Jesus Christ. FCA focuses on serving local communities by equipping, empowering and encouraging people to make a difference for Christ. FCA's vision is to see the world impacted for Jesus Christ through the influence of coaches and athletes. Their mission is to present to coaches and athletes, and all whom they influence, the challenge and adventure of receiving Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, serving Him in their relationships and in the fellowship of the church.
House of Hope is a Christian therapeutic school, home, and counseling center for hurting and troubled girls, ages 12-17 and their families. When there is a hurting teenage girl in a family, the entire family is affected and the entire family needs help. We use the term hurting and troubled because the girls at House of Hope may have been in trouble (with the law, their parents, or their peers) but their actions stem from a deeper hurt that has not healed. That pain may arise from various forms of abuse, broken families, trauma, anger, rebellion, anxiety or many other experiences that can inflict suffering on a young girl. Through this ministry, we teach the critical skills required to live productive and healthy lives, empowering girls and their families to rebuild and maintain godly relationships.
For more information on any of the ministries listed, please contact us and we will be happy to give you more details. If you would like, we can forward your gift to any of these great ministries.
If you know of other local area ministries the that Flagship Fund needs to know about, please send us a note and we will be glad to explore the possibility of a partnership. Although you can support any of these on your own, we would love to be able to help you do so and perhaps introduce you to others in the process!
